Squeaky clean!

  We've all had those nights when we sleep with our makeup. However the rule is to clean first no matter what. Woken up with a slimy, swollen face where foundation seeped its way into the pores. That requires a double clean up routine and no room for applying makeup for several hours as the skin needs to breathe otherwise, just wait for those red pimples to pop up in no time.

  The answer to the problem is The Body Shop's Tea Tree Cool and Creamy wash. I apply makeup almost everyday, even though I clean up regularly there are those times where I am downright tired and just use this wash. Since I started using the Tea Tree Cool and Creamy I find my skin to be squeaky clean.

  It removes makeup thoroughly. The formula contains peppermint which makes the face feels light and even calms the swollen look.

  The smell might be a little medicated however, its not strong and does not linger.

  This face wash is from the tea tree collection which is especially made for blemished skin. They claim "skin spotlessly clean without over drying." This I found true I have dry skin and it did not make it more dry after wash. I don't have acne problems now a days hence can't say much but due to threading and waxing on face their is redness which does come down due to the peppermint.

Fall Trends 2014

In many places summer has slightly started to fold and the breeze of rust leaves is on its way. On my end, we still have many sunny and humid days left. However, we cannot over look the changing trend forecast for beauty ahead for fall/winter 2014.

The forecast from the runway adds edge while maintaining sophisticated elegance. A bit of 60-70's glamour, Kim Kardashian lashes and soft smokes, lets deconstruct:

1. Metallic mayhem: 

RODARTE FALL/WINTER 2014

Metallic eye shadow was present in many runways from Rodarte, Donna Karen, Atluzarra and Emporio Armani. The 70's vibe with over the top metallic touch eye shadow and matching lip is prove you keep on using your Maybelline color tattoo eye shades. Buy a few metallic nail colors (if you haven't already) if you don't want to experiment with eyes. The metallic touch will instantly add a WOW factor with dark fall/winter hues.











2. Doll eye lashes:

GUCCI FALL/WINTER 2014

Rochas, Gucci to Saint Laurent all sported big spider like lashes. Extra lashes to make eyes prominent this 60's beauty trend was big in Milan. Look towards Kim Kardashian or Twiggy for inspiration for fake lashes.














3. Keep up the smoke:

TOPSHOP UNIQUE FALL/WINTER 2014

Smokey eyes are not going anywhere. But if you don't want to go dark then take soft lilac hues smudge and smoke it out. This trend was present at Topshop Unique with a twist where they focused smudging black shadow under the eye and using lots of heavy mascara to get big lashes and create a grunge effect. More over Lavin, Tom Ford, Marc by Marc Jacobs all adapted this look.





4. Flawless skin:

Skin care items should be top on your list for quite a few seasons as fresh flawless skin is more in trend then any makeup look. Jason Wu, Ralph Lauren, Valentino to Erdem all kept their models skin simple with a hint of plush pink color on the cheeks.













5. Luxe eye colors:

GILES FALL/WINTER 2014

Don't invest on metallic browns (probably you have many as they are staple) instead incorporate a few emerald green, cobalt blue, silver or lilac hues. Line the under eye area or apply on the eye lid like a liner and then thinly run your black eye liner over it creating the way Channel went out with only flashes of liner showing. Doir, Giles and Kenzo models were seen with this trend.

Everyday Summer look!

Hello,

Every season we change up makeup routines depending on the weather. Summers at my side of the world are hot and humid hence the less the better. Now BB creams have not worked out for me and I only have drugstore options the rest I have to get through a long process of ordering and have to pay double, since I have always heard 50-50 reviews about many I didn't bother investing my time and money in it (maybe someday I will).

For a glowy/beachy summer look:

1. Apply thin layer of foundation,

2. Curl lashes

3.Bronze and highlight your skin it adds so much glow 

4. Apply blush lightly

5. Line the eyes with a nude or gold pencil and smudge a bit in the tear duct area.

6.Lots of mascara (keep the curl with one layer normal mascara and the next with waterproof mascara)!

7. Apply a pinky-red tone/coral lipstick/balm

8.The nails is my favorite part as I am loving this mint green/blue for this summer.

Hot to Trot!!! Kim Kardashian

Hello,

  The lady of the moment is none other than Kim Kardashian and all her wedding galore to Kanye West. She is known for sharing her makeup techniques which is hugely popular among  makeup enthusiasts and pros alike. These are some pictures hared by her where we all took clue for her always glowing and perfectly blended outcomes at the red carpets.

 

All the pre-wedding outings have seen her sporting her signature Kim Kardashian look and it looks better every time.

 To achieve the look take out all your bronzers, highlighting kits, best nude lipsticks and lots of gel liner (the Ben Nye Banana powder I believe is an investment, you don't need to use as much as she does a little will go a long way!)

This is one of her everyday kind of makeup look which is pretty matte and shine free.
1.Just bronze and highlight the face
2. Add matte chocolate brown color on the crease
3.Eye liner
3. Highlight the tear duct
4. Apply and pinkish nude to the lips with gloss.

Her night out in Paris:
1.More luminous glow and not that matte.
2.Nude lips
3. Eyes are lined top and under and pull out the wing a bit and join both the top and under eye lines.
4. False lashes are must to complete the look.
5. Don't for get the brows
6.Bronze your face and highlight the Kim Kardashian way!

Tip: Apply a light hand of shimmer all over face
(very lightly) it will help in achieving the luminous glow.

WOW
This is one of her best shots
on the trip.
1. The under eye color looks dark brown rather than black
2. Highlight the tear duct area
3. Lightly apply matte bronzer under cheek bones
4. Nude lips (shade closest to your skin color
with a pale pink or transparent gloss
5. False lashes (Demi pixies would be good as the outer side is more winged than the
inner.)

The Valentino lunch:
Her face is same as above as she attended the lunch same day as above.
Only the under eye area is lighter shade of brown/bronze.
To pull off these looks you need to cover up under eye circles very neatly. Take good care of your skin to prevent blemishes and skin problems to create a flawless look like hers.

Undisputed: Best Looks at the Cannes 2014

I decided to have a dedicated post for Blake Lively only as she has been the undisputed queen at the red carpet at the Cannes 2014.

One after the other her appearances were breath taking. The first appearance consisted of a  braid summers it trend, a sultry soft bronze makeup look adorned with a Gucci Premiere gown. She looked pretty prepared for her first appearance at the Cannes.

L'Oreal revealed  they used the Shine Carresse in Lolita gloss. This candy pink color is no doubt the perfect color for summers. Minimal makeup on the eyes and bronzed skin looks perfect. I would recommend a matte bronzer and swiping a peachy gold blush over the cheeks and all over face lightly to give that luminous touch. Sleek's rose gold or L'Oreal's golden apricot blush (265) would be perfect. Eyes are lined black with the Gel liner pen and apply lots of Volume million lashes mascara to complete the look. This look can be great for a summer party!

Her second look was fresh and she looked true to her name Lively. Beachy waves['-pppppppppppppppp Matte foundation, subtle bronzer and the bright pink lip Moist Mat (L'Oreal) in Spring Rosette would achieve this look. This can be a great everyday look for summer as its not that heavy and great for hot humid and beach days.

The 3rd appearance was the classic Hollywood glamour look but she made it look regal with the Gucci monochromatic gown. It made Ryan Reynolds and Blake an iconic couple. L'Oreal's True match Lumi  foundation with Moist Mat Blaze of red (any bright red with orange tinge would do) black eye liner and subtle bronzer is needed to complete the look. Never forget to fix your brows with a dark lip it is very important.

Bonjour ses Cannes 2014

Hello,

The Cannes 2014 is going on in full swing and no doubt its one of the year's biggest glamour party. The gowns, makeup and jewels set the red carpet ablaze with stunning celebrities.

Here are some of the looks I am loving:

1. Kendall Jenner

Kim Kardashian has been rating high on the style meter but Kendall is not behind, after the bespoke Topshop creation at the Met Gala received huge praise she easily glides at the Cannes in Channel looking fresh and immaculate. Just dabb  plum lipstick on your lips with the ring finger to create this clean makeup look

2. Sonam Kapoor

She looked the classic old Hollywood glamour beauty. Soman Kapoor wore Ellie Saab dress and sported a faux bob. Once again the makeup focused on the lipstick with a pinkish tone red everything else is kept understated.

3. Aishwarya Rai

 Aishwarya's arrival was delayed however, she stole the show at the red carpet. She chose a gold Roberto Cavalli dress with a fish tail which accentuates her body so well, she looked divine. More toned and totally made sure the press did not loose her after 12 years attending the Cannes. 

The red lip and flawless skin with the loose hair waves and L'Oreal's Million dollar lashes worked out perfectly with the dress. Even though she wore a dress previously worn by Kristen Chenoweth at the Oscars 2014, Aishwarya made it new and I wouldn't compare at all.

Drink it up!

Hello,

We all know the importance of drinking lots of water so make it fun, healthy and bring a twist to it.

Add cucumber slices, mint leaves and a few lemon slices into a jar of water and refrigerate (do not refrigerate if you face soar throat). Keep over night and drink it all day.

You can also put just of of the above mentioned ingredients and follow the rest of the steps.

This is a great cooler for the body in summer months. It feels refreshing and will help you achieve that glowing skin and healthier stomach and keeps you hydrated.

It will also give you that skin in which you would need very minimal makeup (you know the no makeup makeup look).
